Celebrating 10 Years of the Nitroglobus Gallery

Be mesmerized by this vast collection of exhibition posters spanning a ten-year time period as the Nitroglobus Gallery celebrates its 10-year anniversary! Hurry before this unique display closes next week!

A decade is a long time for any organization to sustain itself in the world of Second Life . On April 19th, 2022, the Nitroglobus Gallery completed this remarkable milestone in its journey. The gallery was established by Nitro Firegaard and Dido Haas in 2012 and has since grown to be one of the most prestigious galleries in the Second Life art world.

The journey of the Nitroglobus Gallery was, however, not without its ups and downs. When Nitro passed away after a long battle with cancer, Dido did not feel like continuing the exhibitions at the gallery all by herself. It was only thanks to encouragement and support by her friends did she continue, first creating the Nitroglobus Hall and then eventually moving to her current location above her own home.

Nitro might not be with us today, but his legacy lives on through Nitroglobus. Dido makes it a point to keep some of his sculptures around during every exhibition at the gallery as atribute to him. The reflective flooring of the gallery is one of its many characteristic trademarks which give it a unique identity of its own.

On occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the Nitroglobus Gallery, in her part of the gallery, Dido has displayed a collection of posters of all the exhibitions and installations which have graced the walls of the gallery till date, right from the first ever exhibit in 2012 by Michiel Bechir to the latest exhibition by Elfi Siemens.

The posters are way too many to be clubbed into a single slideshow; hence, Dido has sorted them in two-year groups from 2012 to 2022. The posters are all displayed in large format, as is another characteristic feature of this gallery. What these posters showcase is actually much larger... in some way, they portray the evolution of art itself in Second Life.

While this is not really an exhibition, a leisurely visit to this spectacular display allows us to take a trip down memory lane and be fascinated by the sheer amount of talent and creativity brought into the spotlight by this gallery. With some additional lighting by Adwehe, this is a visit you will surely enjoy as it is not just a visual spectacle but also an emotional one if you have been following the exhibits here!

TELEPORT TO GALLERY

This display closes around the middle of next week, so hurry to catch a glimpse!
